Good Eats at O’Connor Santa Maria Grill

By · January 8, 2010 · Comments (0)

On a recent trip back from Citrus Heights my husband and I decided to stop and have a late lunch at O’Connor Santa Maria Grill.  If you like good barbeque you may want to check out this place.  Since we wanted to experience as much as possible we each ordered two meats and different sides to go with our meal.  We tried the tri tip, the brisket and the ribs for the meats.  All the meats had a good flavor but the ribs were a bit on the fatty side since they were not baby backs.  For the sides we choose macroni and cheese, garlic mashed potatoes and their beans.  By far the beans were fabulous.  They were full of meat and spices.  Yum.  They have weeknight specials as well all of which are geared to make it a place you want to eat.  The service was good and they were very friendly.  So, if barbeque is something you crave you might want to schedule a trip to 9267 Greenkback Ln in Orangevale.  I don’t think you will be disappointed. Let me know what you think if you go!

Mimi’s

Mimi’s on E. Bidwell St. is a great spot for breakfast. You are greeted with friendly service and, if you have to wait, they even provide you with free coffee. A very nice touch I think.

The food is good as well but if you are watching your calories you don’t want to eat an entire muffin in one sitting. They are delicious but I bet they are your entire day’s allocation of calories (my favorite is the carrot raisin one).

Usually getting into Mimi’s isn’t too much of a problem but if you want to have breakfast on Sunday make sure you are there before 9:00am or you are pretty much guaranteed to have some sort of wait.

I have often met business associates there for lunch. There is a relaxed atmosphere and they don’t rush you to vacate the table. Try their chicken pot pie. It rivals Marie Callendars and is fresh!

My husband often says you can tell if a restaurant is good by the number of cars in the parking lot. If that is true Mimi’s is here to stay!

Blogging is a way to attend a cocktail party but not actually be at someone else’s home. In this fast paced life we lead it is sometimes nice to sit at home, relax and still feel like you can still participate in various things throughout the area in which you live. My goal is to have this blog accomplish just that. With your help I hope it becomes a voice of not only Folsom and our surrounding communities such as El Dorado Hills, Rancho Cordova, Fair Oaks, perhaps Sacramento to name a few.

It won’t just be about real estate although I am sure that will be a topic discussed often but also about what is happening in the local schools, city politics, shopping , restaurants , employment, local getaways and activities -- in fact, we can discuss whatever you like. So, visit often and comment without feeling as if you are being judged. You only need to be you.

So, welcome to FolsomLivingBlog.com. It’s about all of us and our community!
